Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol Graciously Grants an Audience for the Presentation of Donations to Support the “Hataitip Fund” under the Chulabhorn Foundation
On August 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol proceeded to the Convention Hall, Chulabhorn Research Institute Convention Center, to graciously grant an audience to representatives from various agencies and the general public to present donations and join Her Royal Highness in contributing to the “Hataitip Fund” under the Chulabhorn Foundation.
On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chusak Limsakul, Vice Chairperson of the Hataitip Fund Executive Committee, presented a report on the fund’s operations. The fund has been driven by Her Royal Highness’s determination to enhance the security and safety of the public and frontline personnel defending the nation’s sovereignty. Since its official launch, the fund has continuously received support from people of all walks of life, with total donations reaching 252,840,253.28 baht (as of August 9, 2026).
Subsequently, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chusak requested permission for General Ukrit Boontanon, Commander in Chief of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, and General Pana Claewplodtook, Commander in Chief of the Royal Thai Army, to present their reports on the progress of border fence construction and various protective infrastructures in risk areas along the Thai-Cambodian border, managed by the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters and the Royal Thai Army, respectively. Following this, Her Royal Highness viewed a video presentation on the progress of these projects, which are supported by a total budget of 121,089,300 baht from the Hataitip Fund.
Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters Projects For the projects overseen by the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, which received financial support of 69,275,700 baht, the construction of a border fence and a parallel observation road has commenced in Pong Nam Ron District, Chanthaburi Province, serving as a pilot area. Currently, the construction of the border fence between boundary pillars No. 52 and No. 54 has been completed, covering a distance of 1.31 kilometers. The next phase will expand coverage from boundary pillars No. 54 to No. 59, totaling over 8 kilometers, according to the designated plan.
The border fence was designed in accordance with engineering principles, featuring a reinforced concrete structure equipped with concertina wire made from high-quality, cut- and corrosion-resistant steel. Standing at a total height of 3.35 meters, it can effectively support security missions and is well-suited to the local terrain. Concurrently, a 1.23-kilometer material transport route from Operating Base No. 6 to boundary pillar No. 52 has been fully completed, and construction of the observation road along boundary pillars No. 52 to No. 59, spanning over 8 kilometers, is currently underway.
Additionally, the fund supported the construction of 100 bunkers for military personnel and 40 civilian bomb shelters (each accommodating 40-60 people) in risk areas, particularly at schools, temples, and border communities. The installation of all these shelters has now been completed.
Royal Thai Army Projects For the projects overseen by the Royal Thai Army, which received a grant of 51,813,600 baht from the Hataitip Fund, the funds were utilized to construct 328 dual-person foxhole bunkers for personnel and 10 civilian bomb shelters (each accommodating 40 people). These are distributed across various areas in border provinces to serve as safe havens during emergencies or disasters in high-risk zones. All construction works complied with academic and engineering principles and passed the highest safety standard tests. Currently, all operations have been fully completed according to the set targets.
Following this, Khunying Charatsri Teepirach, Committee Member and Secretary of the Hataitip Fund Executive Committee, requested permission for over 100 donors and agency representatives to humbly present their donations to the “Hataitip Fund” under the Chulabhorn Foundation.
On this occasion, Her Royal Highness delivered a royal address to the donors who have supported the efficient operation of the Hataitip Fund, stating:
“…I would like to thank everyone who has supported the work of the Hataitip Fund. Everything we do here is to help the soldiers and civilians along the borders, and to prevent ill-intentioned individuals from entering Thai territory… As I have received considerable support, I actually have something to add to it… which will help the Hataitip Fund have enough money to support border soldiers, police, civilians, and the general public, so that everyone can be safe from the dangers of war. On this occasion, I extend my best wishes to all of you donors for prosperity, peace of mind, continued good health and a long life…”
The “Hataitip Fund” under the Chulabhorn Foundation was established through the grace and royal aspiration of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol. It aims to support the government, private sector, and the public in preventing and resolving problems arising from unrest, conflicts, and disasters, which affect the security, safety, and quality of life of the people and personnel operating in high-risk border areas of the country.
