On October 27, 2023 at 10.30 a.m., Mr. Bancha Techasakul, Vice President for Special Activities, Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), in his capacity as Chairman of the Committee for the Operation of the Chulabhorn 36 Marine Park Project, along with members of the Working Group, attended a meeting with Vice Admiral Suchart Thampitakvej, Commander, Third Naval Area Command (3rd NAC), Vice Chairman of the Committee for the Operation of the Chulabhorn 36 Marine Park Project, and a delegation. The objective was to jointly devise the 2024 action plan for the Chulabhorn 36 Marine Park Project, the management guidelines for the Chulabhorn Marine Park Conservation Center, and an action plan for the survey, repair, and laying out of buoys for boats to prevent indiscriminate anchor casting and conserve coral reefs in the Andaman Sea. The meeting was held in the meeting room of the Third Naval Area Command, Mueang Phuket district, Phuket province. Captain Thompong Charlardtham, RTN, Head, Chulabhorn Marine Park Conservation Center, and Chief Petty Officer First Class Adisron Rodchawang, an official attached to the Center, also attended the meeting. On October 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lom Sak district office meeting hall, Phetchabun province, by Royal Command of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute, Mr. Bancha Techasakul, Vice President for Special Activities, Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), presented 1,100 sets of the Royally-Granted essential supplies, such as jasmine rice, canned food, instant noodles, towels, common household medicines, and face masks, to Mr. Krit Kongmuang, Governor of Phetchabun Province, accompanied by heads of provincial authorities, community leaders, and flood victims, for onward distribution to the flood victims in Phetchabun Province. The primary goal was to uplift the spirits and alleviate the immediate suffering of those affected by the flood. On this occasion, the Vice President for Special Activities of the CRI conveyed the deep concern of Her Royal Highness for those affected by the natural disaster in Phetchabun Province, as well as the officials on duty from various agencies. Dr. Kwanrawee Sirikanchana, Research Scientist II at the Laboratory of Biotechnology, Chulabhorn Research Institute, was honored with the 2023 Thai Government Scholar Rising Star Award in the field of Environmental Science from the Association of the Thai Government Scholarship Students. The awards are presented to former Thai government scholarship recipients who have performed their duties with determination and attentiveness, with the ability to initiate or make tangible changes to their organization, society, or the country, and have maintained a work record marked by honesty, integrity, diligence, perseverance, and good conduct. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chusak Limsakul, Vice President for Administration, Building and Grounds of the CRI, served as Chairman of the ceremony, accompanied by CRI executives and personnel. On August 19, 2023, by Royal Command of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, President of the Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), and driven by the strong commitment of Her Royal Highness to a rabies-free Thailand, Mr. Piamsak Milintachinda, Vice President for International Relations of the CRI, presided over the opening ceremony of the Project on Integrated Training for Knowledge Dissemination and Technology Transfer on the Management of Rabies to Communities under HRH Princess Chulabhorn’s project on “Disease-free Animals, Safe Humans from Rabies”, at Fortune River View Hotel Nakhon Phanom, Mueang Nakhon Phanom District, Nakhon Phanom Province. The training was conducted in collaboration with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University. The activities consisted of academic lectures and a workshop on using applications to prevent rabies in schools and communities. Approximately 180 participants attended, including livestock officials, public health officials, health education teachers, village health volunteers, and community representatives. Nakhon Phanom Province is a target area for the operation of HRH Princess Chulabhorn’s project on “Disease-free Animals, Safe Humans from Rabies”, reflecting the strong commitment of Her Royal Highness to raising awareness about the danger of rabies and ensuring a sustainable rabies-free coexistence between humans and animals.
