The event was held at Suntara Wellness Resort and Hotel, Mueang Chachoengsao District, Chachoengsao Province.

This integrated training for knowledge dissemination and technology transfer on the management of rabies to communities constitutes a significant part of the forces rallied under the cooperation between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University, Provincial Livestock Office, and other relevant local agencies.

It aims to strengthen knowledge, understanding, and awareness of the methods to prevent rabies in schools and communities. The training included learning activities in various forms which enabled access to and encouraged participation of the target groups of participants, such as academic lectures, a workshop on the use of applications, providing comprehensive knowledge of essential information on rabies and rabies-free preventive methods, legal provisions on the prevention of the spread of rabies, and demonstrations of proper first aid techniques. The training was attended by approximately 150 livestock officials, public health officers, health education teachers, village health volunteers, and community representatives, who were also given the opportunity to brainstorm and share ideas and experiences in order to increase capability within their networks for effective operation, surveillance, prevention, and control of rabies, as well as for efficient management guideline to reduce the issues of stray animals in communities in a unified direction.

The Province’s operation, based on cooperation and integration among relevant agencies, embodies Her Royal Highness’s vision of the “One Health” approach – promoting national health security by integrating the good health of humans, animals, and the environment. Chachoengsao Province reportedly has a dog and cat population of 131,403, with 15,047 dogs and cats already sterilized and 116,844 vaccinated against rabies.
