On January 8, 2024 at 11:30 a.m., by Royal Command of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, Mrs. Ratirod Chulajata presented Their Majesties’ Royal Grant to the Chulabhorn Foundation on the auspicious occasion of the Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya on January 8, 2024. The ceremony was held in the Reception Room of the Chemistry Research Building, Chulabhorn Research Institute, with Dr. Thakur Phanit, Vice President for International Relations, Chulabhorn Research Institute, representing the Chulabhorn Foundation.

Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol is filled with great compassion and deeply concerned with the well-being of the Thai people. As the country faces tensions along the Thai-Cambodian border – affecting the safety, quality of life, and well-being of local residents, especially health issues of the sick and disadvantaged, as well as displaced people who lack access to normal medical and public health services as in normal situations – Her Royal Highness directed the Princess Mother’s Medical Volunteer Foundation (PMMV) to provide medical check-ups and treatment for the displaced people from the current situation in the three lower northeast provinces of Si Sa Ket, Surin, and Buri Ram. Her Royal Highness also bestowed Royally-Granted survival packs to initially alleviate the suffering of the affected people. The mission took place from August 29-31, 2025. Upon arrival in each area to perform Her Royal Duties, Her Royal Highness visited local people and granted audiences to patients in need – particularly those with serious chronic diseases requiring continuous care – so they could receive timely Royal Assistance. These patients included individuals suffering from conditions such as breast cancer, lymphoma, brain cancer, ischemic stroke, scleroderma, congenital heart disease, and biliary atresia. On August 14, 2025 at 2.45 p.m., Mr. Surapit Kirtiputra, Vice President for International Relations, Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mayuree Fuangthong, Research Scientist II, Dr. Chalermchai Artpradit, Research Scientist I, a team of researchers at the CRT, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Soranat Raibhu, Engineering High Level Expert, welcomed Ms. Suchata “Opal” Chuangsri, Miss World 2025, on the occasion of her visit to the Center for Biologics Research and Development (CBRD), CRI. The purpose of her visit was to learn about the operations of the CBRD and its progress in R&D and production of drugs for cancer treatment. The CBRD is fully equipped with infrastructure, technology, and operational systems and is the first center in Thailand to successfully support the comprehensive development process of biologics. The Center for Biologics Research and Development (CBRD) was established to fulfill the vision of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol, President of the CRI.
