As the country faces tensions along the Thai-Cambodian border – affecting the safety, quality of life, and well-being of local residents, especially health issues of the sick and disadvantaged, as well as displaced people who lack access to normal medical and public health services as in normal situations – Her Royal Highness directed the Princess Mother’s Medical Volunteer Foundation (PMMV) to provide medical check-ups and treatment for the displaced people from the current situation in the three lower northeast provinces of Si Sa Ket, Surin, and Buri Ram. From upstream to downstream processes, this innovation was accomplished entirely by Thai researchers without relying on foreign technology transfer.
